Fiber
"Every wise-hearted woman spun with her hands" Exodus 35:25
There is NO "good" or "bad" fiber. It all has its own admirable qualities, and it ends up as a personal preference for the spinner, as to which kind of fiber they like to work with. And there is an amazing variety of fiber to spin! I love to spin wool. Soft and lofty is my favorite. Alpaca is sweet, as are most of the exotic fibers. They are incredibly soft. There are some wonderful folks out there who make the most fantastic blends of wool, silk, alpaca, ect... in gorgeous colors! So instead of doing a lot of my own dyeing and blending on the drum carder, I tend to indulge in their wares, or I send my fiber out for processing to some of the great fiber mills. Someday, when I have some free time, I'll delve into making my own blends, but for now I'm well supplied with the wonders that are out there from others. :o}
